Spanking & Paddling

Yes, spanking. One of the most popular of BDSM activities is turning a nice round bottom a rosy red color. I can't explain it other than to say that I have long been a fan of turning fannies red myself. If you read my recent post on using crops and canes, then you know that there is a certain area of the bottom (and upper thighs) that is the ideal spot to hit. This post is more or less a continuation of that one.

Whether you spank for discipline, punishment, or just for the sheer enjoyment of it, there are few things you should know before you just jump right in. First of all, the easiest and most popular spankings are called 'over the knee' (OTK) spankings. I say easiest because you don't need any sort of special equipment, just your hand. If you have ever given someone an OTK spanking then you know that it can be quite painful to your hand as well as the bottom (pun intended) to which it is applied. The only precaution here is: if your hand hurts, it's a good time to stop. Switching hands can relieve some of your pain, but will only serve to mask the level of pain you are giving to the target. That is, you will be less aware of the amount of pain you are inflicting. So for safety sake, use only one hand so as not to do any real damage.

Now, the other implement often used is the paddle. Paddles come in many shapes and sizes. You can get them with or without holes, with special designs such as hearts or words that will be imprinted on the bottom they strike, or plain. I, myself, prefer to use a simple, light-weight paddle made of wood. Not the big heavy Frat-style paddle, but one that is fairly small and very easy to wield. Ping-pong paddles actually work very well and can be obtained from any store that has sporting equipment.

Again, when using any kind of implement to inflict pain, use caution. Whether for punishment or pleasure spanking with a paddle can be dangerous. One can easily cause damage, and that is the one thing none of us wants to do. Always start out lightly and increase the severity of the blows as you go along. Watch closely for marks and bruises. If you see vein-like streaks of blue or red appear on the target area, you might want to stop. If the objective is to leave a few lasting marks, you have done that. If the objective is to cause damage, keep going, because you can burst these veins.

Making bottoms red is one of the things I do best and it's always fun as long as you focus on the right spot and don't get carried away. It only takes a few strokes to get a nice color change, and only a few more to leave some temporary marks and bruises to help the recipient remember the occasion. So, happy and safe spanking to you all.
